Compassion International

Car made by a little boy.

Actual pair of well worn shoes worn by one of Compassions sponserees.

Compassions Headquarters is in Colorado Springs so we were able to take a tour of the headquarters.

This is a typical home of the people that Compassion serves. Our tour guide was wonderful and pointed out to us that the blue gas can would be a typical item used to transport water. 3.575 million people die each year from water-related disease.
See the netting? Those can be purchased and donated to a family for 10 dollars. Most of the families Compassion serves live in mosquito infested areas so Malaria is a big concern. Worldwide, an estimated 200 million to 300 million malaria infections occur each year, with 2 million to 3 million deaths.

Here is where all the letters and gifts are processed. Compassion asks that Sponsors correspond with the child they are sponsering, every child writes back too. You can even send them special items on birthdays, or arrange a visit. It is exciting to see pictures and hear from your own special child.

Wow, thanks for sharing these pictures! I would love to visit the GMC one of these days! I don't know when we'll ever get to Colorado, so I am happy to look through photos.

As someone with a passion for writing and inspiring other sponsors to write (as you can tell from my blog), I love the glimpse of the mailroom. Those letters are so powerful!

Just awesome! I also love your blog's design! I just started one myself for our church's website. I'm kind of new to blogging though so I'm checking out other Christian blogs to get some inspiration for design and content. Feel free to check our new blog at our church in Bellevue

Would love to know what you think!

At this time it sounds like Wordpress is the preferred
blogging platform available right now. (from what I've read) Is that what you're using on
your blog?
